About Cody
Cody Linley has been a professional actor for three decades and has been coaching actors for two decades. Cody is dedicated to helping actors take their acting to the next level. Cody's coaching has lead to countless students booking starring roles in feature films, T.V. shows, commercials, voice over projects and much more!
Cody is perhaps best known for his role as Jake Ryan (Miley's boyfriend) on Disney Channel's hit tv series "Hannah Montana." Cody danced his way to the "Final Four" on the seventh season of ABC's "Dancing With The Stars" with partner Julianne Hough, and subsequently appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" Cody has guest-starred on ABC Family's "Melissa & Joey," Disney Channel's "That's So Raven" and CBS's "Walker, Texas Ranger."
When he was just eight years old, Cody acted in his first feature film, the coming of age drama "My Dog Skip" with Diane Lane and Kevin Bacon. He would go on to star in a variety of roles that evoked an endearing charm which quickly became his trademark. Among his many feature film credits are "Cheaper By The Dozen," "Miss Congeniality," "Where The Heart Is" and "Hoot" opposite Brie Larson.
Cody has been a faculty member at Cathryn Sullivan's Acting studio in Lewisville, Texas for decades. He continues to give back to his profession by inspiring the future generation of actors through his private teaching and coaching business.
His latest projects have included "The Playroom" which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival; and "My Dog the Champion" in which he starred as Eli, the heartwarming dog trainer, alongside Lance Henriksen. In 2015, Cody starred as the title character in "Hoovey" directed by Sean McNamara. He also starred in SyFy Channels Sharknado 4 & 5 in the summer of 2016 & 2017. In 2020 Cody was in episode 6 of the mini series "Happy Epidemic" playing a quirky life coach & he also played a gang leader for "Solve: The Podcast". He wrote, directed, produced & acted in the upcoming short film "Peace Brother".
Cody studies acting daily with L.A.'s top coaches & attends film school for film & T.V. production. His passions include making music, writing, playing sports, nature, yoga, playing with his two dogs Hermes & Luna and of course, always inspiring others.

Online Lesson Types
Cody teaches online acting lessons to children from 4 years of age to adults of all ages. He offers many different lesson types with lessons usually lasting one hour. After studying and teaching acting nearly his entire life, Cody has created a unique program using world-renowned techniques while making it easy for kids and adults to understand and apply.
Audition Coaching & Acting Technique
Cody will help you create an undeniable, specified audition. Based on Cody’s experience as an actor and his intensive studies with Larry Moss & Howard Fine, Cody adapts his coaching technique from the lineage of Uta Hagen & more. He makes script analysis & connecting to the emotional truth of the scene simple to understand ensuring that your performance will be believable & original.
4. Voice-Over Technique
As an award-winning voice-over artist, Cody helps actors prepare for voice over work that combines his multi-layered approach to voice over characterization and performance delivery. Students will learn many tools and techniques that are an invaluable asset to actors, especially when preparing voice over auditions or looking to break into the voice over industry, as it helps support their choices and deliver a solid recording!
2. Voice & Movement
Inspired by his studies at the Stella Adler Academy & with the worlds top private coaches, Cody blends his love of the Alexander Technique, and of the Linklater Technique into a custom approach to voice and movement that help embody the character. Cody offers unique embodiment exercises that help ignite the imagination for students to create powerful characters for their work.
5. Parent Coaching
These sessions allow for Cody to give parents helpful hints at supporting their child actor to succeed. From topics such as homework ideas to evaluations that assess their child’s unique abilities & performances, Cody can spend time with you as a parent to develop a clear succession plan for the entertainment industry.
3. Improvisation
Cody is a graduate from both the Improv Olympics & Upright Citizens Brigade L.A, and studied for over a decade with the founder of The Groundling’s Theatre Gary Austin. Through his many years of acting, one constant skill that has served his career is improv, and he believes it is foundational to any actor. Cody blends multiple forms of improvisational acting to help an actor think on their feet, create in the moment and find the spirit of collaboration in their scene work.
6. Career & Brand Development
Developing a social media presence, a consistent brand image and delivering on that brand time and again so that casting directors know who they’re calling into the room is a huge part of a successful acting career. With career and brand development coaching Cody helps students identify the themes of their character choices and navigate the often confusing and difficult road to success in the film and television business.
